Data and sources

Where Kelvaro public content gets its facts

Different questions require different sources. Kelvaro separates authoritative legal or tax sources, current product documentation, transparent calculator assumptions, and first-party operational observations instead of treating them as equivalent evidence.

Reviewed August 27, 2026

Source hierarchy

  • Federal tax and classification topics: primary government sources, especially IRS forms, instructions, publications, and guidance.
  • Competitor capabilities and pricing: official competitor product, pricing, and help documentation where available.
  • Kelvaro product capabilities: current Kelvaro product and repository-backed behavior; roadmap items should be labeled as future work rather than current capability.
  • Calculators: user-entered assumptions and formulas disclosed on the calculator page.
  • Operational guides: workflow analysis grounded in contractor-payment process design, with legal or tax claims separated from operational recommendations.

Freshness rules

Competitor and compliance source registries store checked dates. Automated validation blocks registered sources after the configured freshness window so time-sensitive claims are revisited instead of living indefinitely as static marketing copy.

Article modification dates are stored explicitly. A page is not marked modified simply because it was rendered or rebuilt.

What is not represented as live market data

Free calculators do not represent live FX, bank, payroll, tax, or payment-provider quotes unless a page explicitly says otherwise. Entered percentages and fees are assumptions for scenario analysis.

Kelvaro does not present synthetic estimates as first-party benchmark data. Future aggregate benchmark reports should only be published when the underlying usage dataset is large enough, appropriately anonymized, and methodologically disclosed.
